Osiris' way of starting 2014. This artwork was inspired by a dream I had, including Osiris showjumping and wearing the same tack. This horse seems to be so much more than just a character. I feel connected to him in the real world-hence the reason why I am riding him.
Every time I draw Osiris, I feel his presence.
Everything is copyright to me! Even the customly-designed tack, ear bonnet and gloves!
Name: Osiris
Gender: ♂
Age: 17
Breed: Halloween Hunter
Personality: Osiris is a very sensitive and deep-routed stallion; having the rare ability to use his mind instead of his muscles to free himself from dangerous situations without causing much uproar: 'That stallion was so smart, so witty, and so full of SENSE, that even he could fight back without physically having too. Being vocally useful in a dangerous situation was a skill that was life-saving-and one that most others lacked. Because everybody else was dumber and less articulate than Osiris, apparently.' -This quote perfectly describes the highlights of Osiris's personality in one clear explanation.
In addition to this trait of being acute, Osiris knows better than to go bragging about his himself to strangers. Therefore, he rarely takes the opportunity to engage in conversation with anybody about ordeals relating to the past, which is linked to why he's always so reserved (to the point of being anti-social). Apart from Killer and his good friends (Raphael, Death and Imp) -who know nearly everything about his history, nobody else is aware of the brave journey he faced and overcame as a colt. Of course, with all this in mind, Osiris's reputation for being one of the smartest and most sharp-witted members in the whole of the Sudden Death Herd is well known among all-which means he is well respected. (He is Killer's deputy, after all...)
Points of Osiris's personality: Osiris is a quiet soul. However, when you get to know him, you will see a completely different side of the stallion you misjudged. Osiris is one good friend, dedicated, loyal and honest to the bone. Yet, Osiris is also very wise and would never even think to cross the line, or go over any limit. He is strong, solid-minded, and very attentive. Equally, Osiris is charming and charismatic with a very level head. Although Osiris isn't one for violence, he is definitely one to reckon with.
History: Stifled in a place where it was impossible to explore and expand ones mind, Osiris was one of the many easily lead yearlings that fell into hidden traps-making him prone to troublemaking because of his free-minded approach to almost everything that existed in life. Often running away in the middle of the night to venture beyond safety, Osiris discovered many strange things about his homeland and the fact that a whole new world existed out there without him ever gaining knowledge about it fuelled his desire to find out what it was he was missing.
Starting out was pretty basic, the youngster obviously had to be sly whilst searching around the darkest parts of his village, aptly named 'the Outskirts', where any inhabitant situated there was forbidden to go because of the constant threat of danger. Eventually, after repeatedly scouring for any sign of exit, Osiris stumbled across an old escape route which was used in the ancient ages as a safe place to lead villagers away from impending attacks to refuge among the foothills. The winding trail, disguised and camouflaged by thick vegetation like a chamilion, beckoned him out of the familiarity of his normal surroundings, along with family and friends also being left behind without a trace of where he had gone.
Icy cold temperatures cast a thick sheet of frost along the ground; so much so that a dull colour of grey blanketed Osiris's surroundings like a cloak. Dimly shining in the sky was the moon, hiding behind the black clouds cowardly. It's half presence frustrated many, as their eyes couldn't adjust. The limited light made it harder to navigate through the vegetation of trees and grassland.
Osiris was, of course, apprehensive, as he began a quest to search for what nobody else dared to pursue; answers and evidence of civilisation beyond their little world of serenity, engulfed in the safety of stone which stood, preserving it's contents for years.
Soon reaching a clearing upon an overlooking mountain, the young, naive colt studied a large shift in the structure of the ground. Difficult it was to descend, but this was no excuse to give in so quickly, the slope drastically stooped and dispersed into foothills before levelling out into the Flatlands. It was hard to descend such difficult terrain, but Osiris had come so far that he was determined to keep going despite whichever obstacle awaited him.
With much struggle and a huge demand for stamina, Osiris set foot onto the Flatlands, providing him with an opportunity to register his bearings and give him an idea of where to journey next. Surprisingly, evidence of civilisation elsewhere had blossomed at the most unexpected moment, forcing Osiris to tear off at an exited gallop towards a distant castle that hurled rays of light up into the blackened sky of another winter night. Although unsure about what he was doing, Osiris had a fairly positive outlook on his plan, but had seriously undermined the possibilities of danger when out alone in a foreign area.
Closer now, the sheer scale of the castle and the grounds belonging to it far outweighed the size of anything Osiris was used to. He had no idea who it belonged to or who happened to lurk in the shadows, which threw him into a very, VERY dangerous and vulnerable position.
Osiris didn't think much of security or punishment for trespassing, so the youngster continued-mindlessly following the large castle wall until a small exit door could be seen, sunken into the centuries-old, sturdy, grey stone. Passing through it wasn't very easy, but Osiris managed to force it open enough for him to slip through and into the grounds of the castle. Once in, Osiris was overwhelmed with one truly colossal building, looming over the land like a giant monster. Accompanied with its own army of watchtowers set at every possible position, it seemed that the inhabitants of this hostile environment didn't perhaps take kindly to outsiders. To the colts' right were three watch towers rigged with blaring beams of light, sweeping and scoping the grounds to check for any disturbances or unwanted visitors; to his left were another five watch towers, protecting the front of the castle. If he wanted to get inside, it would mean risking his cover.
"I have to solve the mysteries of danger in my homeland." It was easier said than done for a start, but how could he prove to his relatives and friends back home in the village? They were absolute in their decision not to travel to the Outskirts, so how would they react when they find out about his disappearance further than the foothills into the Flatlands? Osiris couldn't afford to waste time. The longer he took to ponder over questions, the more it took to figure out a plan. No doubt that; and the village discovering the news of their missing colt before he could even act to do something whilst out on his travels. "This castle must have something to do with why our village is so socially inept and scared. If I can prove to everyone that there is something bigger out here, then perhaps they would believe me." Osiris reassured himself that he had found this castle because it was his destiny to change the world. It was now his chance to prove his worth and find out what he was truly made of. As daunting as it may seem, the young stallion continued, nonetheless. Dropping down in an attempt to camouflage his body and mask it by the shadows, the horse snaked up to the watch tower and hid behind its thick frame, keeping a watchful eye behind him incase somebody caught sight of him. It was a long process, but sticking to this strategy meant that Osiris could avoid the searchlights which never seemed to rest.
After a tireless hour or so, he had done it... He was now at the front of the castle, but it wasn't over yet. What he didn't realise was that at the front, a large number of guards lined the outskirts of the castle walls, facing in every direction which made it very dangerous to cross, as it was almost a guaranteed death sentence. Not only that, but they were also heavily armed with a vast array of weaponry far more advanced than any modern army of that time. Also, for defence, each guard was suited up with heavy-duty armour, beholding a trademark of some sort to perhaps show proof of identification and register. From what Osiris could notice, each guard had the same trademark. It was fairly easy to spot as it was engraved into the breastplate of the armour itself. 'What on earth is this place? Some sort of army barrack?' Osiris toyed with this thought... 'But wouldn't army barracks have a different layout instead of a castle? What about the armour? What does that trademark on the armour MEAN?' The list of possibilities grew endless as Osiris posed more questions. How could he find out without exposing his identity? It had to be something more serious than an army. It seemed too... intimidating to be a place for a good cause-and besides, wouldn't the soldiers of an army venture out to neighbouring villages and further for missions? Search and destroy? Recruitment searches? 'It can't be an army. These monsterous devils aren't here for a good reason.' At once, the Osiris of superior knowledge bounced back. He was lucky to be able to switch frame-of-minds so quickly. It was as if his brain adapted into something else completely, and one thing that Osiris always had was a very advanced mind-even for somebody as young as he was. It was an advantage that had stuck with him for years.
