This is a fanart of Astro using her much-loved power, Travelling up to the sky, and becoming part of heaven, watching down on Earth's life-forms :3
My friend, Harley's Shadow, did a nice fanart for me of when Astro was actually THE night sky, in an rp we both take part in ^^
THANKYOU HARLEY!
Art copyright to Harley, Astro copyright to ME!
Harley is also the grey horse with the black mane in the corner ^^
Not my best artwork of Astro, I must admit. The lines are far too good for my laziness at this point. As you can see, I forgot to add the glowing to Astro's famous 'snake-marking' as a trademark of the Star Strikers and her necklace, along the jewels are highlighted and shaded with crap consideration.
Lines are by Horsy1050. Design, shading, highlighting and character (c) to me.
Name: Astronomical Dreams {Astro for short}
History: Astro has had an unusual history. A history that no child should've ever gone through before. Somewhat, the story takes her through a journey of pain, love, trust and to trust again...
Astro was not very old when a tragic incident struck her already struggling family. They worked hard for what they lived for, they strived for the best things nearest to them. Among all, they lived fairly, with each and every member getting their fair share of the good life.
Like everybody else feared, Astro saw of a horrible incident interrupting the calm and content presence that lay, spread over Lunar Dust Realm like a blanket. Only, she was too young to understand what that horrible incident might bring fourth to her and the citizens of Solarshine.
Astro was already growing up to become a beautiful young mare-maybe too quickly for her father to feel comfortable with. His daughter was smart and inquisitive, with a very strong mind. She hypothesized things in years to come, saved people from threat, she could read minds, decipher one's future, and work out how to navigate the realm into a better place. Even this alarmed Galactic Force, who was not so easily surprised.
Galactic Force, Astro's father, had a very bad feeling with the way things were turning. Some things went unheeded to him, but today was too much of a disturbance to let it go unnoticed. In addition to that, he was also concerned for his wife and Astro's safety.
"I want every single member of the Lunar Dust Army to stand guard at the outer parts of the realm next to the Lunar Dust Mountains. I have a bad feeling that something very very bad might strike our realm and cause mayhem for us all."
The stallion paced up and down for hours, trying to figure out a plan that may bide time... Time that didn't exist... As more time passed, the more evident the problem became. His daughter was right, there WOULD be a destruction. Soon too. How could this be ignored? How could he not see this coming?
Astro approached her father, her mind at rest and her thoughts clear. She was concerned for her parent, looking up at him with a critical neon-green eye.
"Father, please. Do not fret. I will help in any way I can. I'm sure mother will be alright, won't she?" Astro shook her head, observing her surroundings before turning back to Galactic. He had not said anything since his daughter had entered the room. "Father?"
Galactic Force tensed up when Astro pressed him, slowly exhaling to relieve himself. "Don't worry about it my sweet; she will be okay... I promise."
His voice did not convince Astro as easily as he would've liked. She cocked her head, narrowing her eyes as she observed the uncertainty surrounding her father, carefully.
"I have noticed you seem to be slightly uncertain about this, Father." Astro pinned her ears back slightly, still intent on finding out the truth. "Why are you so worried? What is it that is making you so off-guard?"
Galactic Force sighed, flicking his tail in an attempt to rid the nervous energy building within him. He turned, giving his daughter an encouraging squeeze. The ground shook just a little, signalling that the time had come. Galactic looked up, and his body froze.
"Astro, the time has come, we must prepare."
Without no hesitation, Galactic swept Astro up onto his back and took off into the air, swiftly advancing towards where Astro's mother might be. He wasted no time with directions speeding recklessly throughout the village and to where the forest lay. As they neared, both of the horses could see no sign of the mother.
Galactic skidded to a halt as he landed, panting from his efforts. The first thing he did was search around frantically. He needed to find his wife before it was too late.
"SHIT! She must have already taken off! I can't contact her, she must be already on her way there!"
Astro dropped down from her father's back, registering his urgency. As she did so, her eyes widened as a large comet-like chunk of rock swooped down from outer-space, colliding into the planet, causing a deafening explosion. Everything seemed to be in slow motion, before the impact of the comet sent out a huge wave of force that threw them both into the air. Anything standing in the way such as buildings or trees were demolished with the remaining pieces of sediment which was falling from the sky.
As Astro made contact with the ground, the wind from her airways was brutally knocked out of her, leaving her gasping for breath as she stopped tumbling over the ground. As she stopped rolling, Astro picked herself up, severely shaken. She whinnied loudly, staggering forwards and struggling to keep balance:
"FATHER!!!" Astro hollered, looking for him, soon finding him crippled against a fallen tree, with a large gash running across his shoulder. The wound must've been inflicted as he was thrown at least another fifty foot away from when they were last standing. The debris must have caught him as he fell.
Rubble from buildings littered the ground, and little fires started among the bark which was ripped from the trees nearer to the impact zone.
Galactic Force regained consciousness, coughing up some blood, pushing himself to his feet. He limped to his daughter with a pain-filled expression engraved upon his face.
"Come! We need to find shelter!" Galactic barked. Astro was unknowing to the danger her mother faced, but she followed along, completely dumbfounded and exhausted.

She was just two years of age when the news spread about her beloved mothers death, and when her father told her about the occurrence, it was heartbreaking for him just to watch her cry and weep as though she was actually broken inside, like a shattered mirror, like part of her had died inside. Her vulnerable mind was unable to cope with the catastrophe that life had thrown at her.
Galactic Force tried his best to persuade her to move on, but Astro couldn't. She was frightened of letting go, she was frightened of forgetting her mother. She couldn't...
"Come now..." Galactic hushed her, one night. "We can get through this... We can get through and make it through to the other side." Even though his voice sounded reassuring, Astro could see Galactic's grave expression and emotionless eyes give it all away...
Instead of arguing, she bit her lip, and continued listening, letting those words sink in to her already shattered mind...
"As long as you say so..."
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The young, (only very rarely) rambunctious little filly lived in a space-like realm, where there were derelict rock-meadows, lunar waterfalls, vast plains, and nebular-like horses which could camouflage into the very starry-sky itself, just like herself. Astro was a Star Striker (that could wield many amazing abilities) and was born to look after the universe. It was her destiny to inherit the skills her parents acquired, to put them to use, and to finally join back the broken ends from the past, and to create a new life as a leader... It was Astro's destiny to carry out her mother's duties and to MAKE history. The only thing which had the largest impact, was that the twenty-five-year generation had come to an end, meaning that a new leader must be selected, and, sadly, there was no respectable being qualified to pick one. Originally, it was her father's job to sort out these special duties, and pick a citizen that could take the strain of being responsible, that could keep problems at bay in the outer-space areas... This was particularly exciting when the mare he first met (Astro's mother) came into his life, and influenced to Galactic that she was more capable than anybody else to have a shot at being the one responsible of this duty.
Galactic was happy for her when it was time to pick, bestowing the honour of power to her on the first year of their marriage... To make it more memorable.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Although Astro knew he should be the one to pick out a new leader, now was not the time to let him carry the burden. Clearly he was not in a fit or healthy mental state to do so. It would be too much of a hard decision to pick respectfully. Anyway, they didn't know if the comet had spread the death-carrying impact yet, so was there really any point worrying about that? No. And secondly, Astro feared that if her father DID pick, it would be a total irrational decision and that ill luck might follow through.
"Father, I don't want to loose you..."
Astro whispered to him suddenly as they rested, drained, near one of the many streams that lead from the mouth of Lunar Lake. The air was pleasantly cool, but an oppressive darkness sometimes would hang heavy in the air, accompanying the uneasy silence.
Galactic smiled weakly, his mind laughing hopelessly as one unnoticed tear leaked from his eye: "Astro, if Atlas calls me home when the time is right, you'll know what to do." He chided softly trying to soothe his daughter. Astro sucked in a sharp breath, calming her emotions. She was not one to labour touchy subjects like this, ESPECIALLY when she was aware of how fragile her father was after the news of her mothers' death... But there was something that lurked ahead. Something darkening the path to the light... Something very wrong. Something that wasn't answering her pleas for happiness.
"Just go to sleep my daughter. Tomorrow may bring hope yet. Only time will tell."
Listening to her fathers' sensible words, she obeyed, curling up tightly and closing her eyes; her mind adopting a restless and horrifying sleep with a sickening dream...
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Astro's dream was not pleasant... Infact, it was just a re-run of what had happened. One thing that was interesting was that instead of it just being a flashback sort of dream, there were other unheard-of things that she was unaware of that had ACTUALLY happened:
Galaxies and other planets lay in danger. Every three years, a respected leader was needed to check up on all of the problems when the time came-supposedly to free them of any troubles, and that leader was Astro's mother. However, when the tragic incident hit, all was lost, and those phenomenal planets were invaded by a deadly explosion.
Every twenty-five years or so, natural disasters occur. There was a high risk of Comets smashing into the planet of Solarshine and practically killing off anything in it's path-sometimes issues like this were unpreventable.
Luckily, when Astro's mother checked up on the planets, she escaped all of the life-threatening killers, all except one. The comet...
The comet came into direct contact with a certain planet, which swiped at the most efficient time. Astro's mother was killed amongst the wreckage, and the force of impact caused large parts of the comet to break away, which forced the sediment towards Solarshine-the impact and debris killing the last of her kind, AND, her father.
In the night of her disturbed sleep, Galactic had sensed trouble. He figured that if he went to confront it, then it would keep his daughter safe. However, his senses and instincts mislead him, and he was hit from a large portion of the comet which had deposited it's remains over Solarshine.
It's funny how we can predict things and they happen later on. That's just the nature of the beast...
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
As many of you are wondering why Astro is still alive, it's because her father and mother gave her all of their abilities and powers. They cast a spell on a very rare-looking stone before breaking it up into pieces to form a certain number of gems in order to apply it to her necklace and her armour. The rare gem is called Lunar-Dust stone, where over thousands of years, the lunar rock erodes away, and beneath the layer of rock lies a solid gem. The stone which was enchanted was meant to glow every second that Astro lived. It's job was simple, in serious life-threatening situations, or inevitability of death, it is supposed to circulate enough energy and send magical impulses surging through her body to save and preserve her life.
Astro's father personally wanted his daughter to have this protection mechanism in case she grew up living in chaos.
{All of Astro's dream was infact true. She just didn't know that it had occurred, and she didn't know that her father had secretly kept her alive... When she was asleep by the lake, he used to sneak out to complete the uncompleted task which was to finish the spell-casting of the gem. Only what Galactic needed to do was make time to finish the creation and connect it with Astro. This was soon before another horrible surprise followed on. The explosion that killed her mother had encouraged the comet to split into separate sediment which was getting closer to the planet of Solarshine. The spreading debris had killed her father, only leaving one thing evident; that SHE must lead the realm, and SHE must tend to the planets. However, with no training or knowledge, would she be able to do it?}
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
.:Later On:.
The star-struck mare was looking into the prophecy, her strained eyes quickly and hurriedly scanning through the eternity-old papers, gaining important reports on every planet she was meant to visit... There was one particular danger which caught her eye, making her nerves lurch within. The stones on her thick golden necklace glowed dimly, showing her depression and despair. She was only the age of fourteen, and already the life which was once kind and sweet, was vulgar and vicious-lashing out at her, grabbing her, making her life unbearable...
She didn't realize that it was her father who created these gems to save her. She didn't know hardly anything, only snippets of her conversation with Galactic. She remembered him telling her about how it was his duty to show her the way, but the disease managed to strike before she did.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
"You wanted me to protect Solarshine... It was my destiny, wasn't it?"
Astro asked innocently. Her beautiful emerald-green eyes gazed up at her noble father with such interest.
"It was your destiny to protect the planet of Solarshine... But your... Mother's death intruded on what was meant to be..." Galactic looked down in grief, evidently affected by the question, but alas, he carried on: "Originally, she would still be taking charge of this duty... But as she is no longer here, I am the only rightful parent left. It is up to me to show you the way."
Galactic Force sounded grave as he ended his sentence, exhaling. His eyes dimmed as old memories raced through his mind.
"I will always be here to protect you... Even when the stars burn out and the moon looses it's glow"
Astro smiled thankfully, cuddling her father. Her head buried deep in his mane as tears brimmed in her eyes.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Dissipating slowly, the flashback finally ended. Astro sunk down onto her knees tiredly. Oh, how she yearned for her family and friends. How she yearned for her childhood back... She missed those memories so much and it hurt her to no end to find that she could never do anything to bring them all back.
The mare closed her eyes briefly, soaking up the last of happiness that was left from the image.
"If I could do anything for you, father, I would do my best to bring honour to our family."
Astro vowed, standing up gracefully as her eyes scanned the darkened sky for the brightest star. Her eyes rested upon the desired one, and a small smile etched upon her face.
"I WILL bring honour to our family, Father."
And as soon as the words echoed throughout the air, Astro turned away and walked back to the palace to amend some plans. She changed the world back to what it was; eradicating the dangers bestowed upon those planets. She MADE history...
{Later on in her life, Astro met a mare called Starscream who adapted to her personality, becoming good friends. They share powers and secrets and rarely let ANYBODY get in-between them. They benefit off of each other, and Starscream was the one to make the final leap getting Solarshine back to what it was before.}
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Personality: Astro has a vibrant and radiant personality that is so colourful and strong that it represents that of a light raining down on you. This is also the personality of a generous, loving, kind, maybe 'too' over-considerate, and stubborn girl, that loves to live her life to the fullest... Whenever somebody has some critique, or something negative to say to her, the mare will often refuse to see it through, or take the world upon her shoulders, having a habit to let the situation escalate (this is due to her bad temper and unpredictability)
Although not obvious; she once had very dark ways with her-where she enjoyed watching others suffer, getting confused and marvelling over their suffocating misfortunes. At one point, she became so enraged and hell-bent that she tried to kill her friend (Starscream) out of cold blood. This is proof that she uses her anger against things she feels that agitate her, or drive her the wrong way. It is obvious that she has some serious temper problems, finding it hard to keep cool, chilled and controlled. It's not the first time that she's been involved in an argument or a fight; but even though Astro may appear to be an innocent sweetheart, she has hurt many through physical force. Neither is it the first time that she has been idiotic, which accommodates her naiveness.
After Astro's recent years, she has become very insecure and insular. She often directs her anger at others by shutting them out, or feeding her sourness by hating everything and everyone. She is not gullible...
She is also very defiant and rebels against others who (in her eyes) are wrong. Astro's name is also very important, because her dreams are sky-high-unimaginable. Every little thing she does has to be of high-quality and if it doesn't reach the mark of pure perfection, she won't be happy. No exceptions are made for lazy/lethargic people; as she is very committed, clearly not having the time for it.
Like said before, Astro is defiant, very opinionated, sharp-witted and acute.
However, when the horse comes across somebody she likes, Astro will get very attached to them-even to the point of getting heart-broken or shattered. She tends to be a little bit of a child when she does not get her own way and gets stressed quite easily. Astro frets over silly little things that aren't worth even worrying about. Constantly, Astro is found working so hard, almost to the point of snapping. If none of her history occurred, then Astro wouldn't be like she is today. Why now, do you think Astro is so special to me? Because she is so much LIKE me.
(SHE NEVER TAKES HER ACCESSORIES OFF! Her markings ALWAYS glow, but they glow brighter or dimmer according to mood!)
Words/sentences to describe Astro: Headstrong, hot-headed, snappy, shy, delirious, dreamy, imaginative, intricate, original, majestic, regal, graceful, articulate, intelligent, noble, proud, energetic, clever, bright, sharp, shrewd, astute, acute, apt, and able (some of these words are associated with the word smart) and this means that she recognizes things in the background-little things that most people ignore. -She is many peoples' role-model.
Breed: Star Striker
Gender: Female (♀)
Age: 14
Current Living Status: Planet Solarshine, Realm Lunar Dust
Mood: Very sharp and extreme mood swings with a tendency to be aggressive and confrontational. Also violent and unresponsive. Astro is known to be unpredictable and will act upon current thoughts if and when she wants too.

{Later on in her life, Astro met a mare called Starscream who adapted to her personality, becoming good friends. They share powers and secrets and rarely let ANYBODY get in-between them. They benefit off of each other, and Starscream was the one to make the final leap getting Solarshine back to what it was before.}
