Meet Imp; one of the more 'simpler' designs out of my character collection.
Believe it or not, Imp wasn't my original design. The roleplay moderator 'Phale' (Chickensmoothie.com) gave him to me after I won her competition.
He was one of her old characters, but she decided to put him up for adoption due to him gathering cobwebs.
Obviously at that time, I wanted a few more meaningful characters and tried my luck at writing him up a good biography.
A few days later, I had an inbox saying that Imp was all mine. So, I shall NEVER give him up. He will always be a part of Sudden Death.

This is what my other awesome fan/friend did for me. She did Imp great justice! This is what she said in the caption relating to her work: "Got around to doing some art of Astro's Imp^^ If he could talk, and was running in this pose, he would say "THIS. IS. SPARTAAA!" So yeah. He looks pretty cute, though^^ Hope you like him! (I used to be SilverLugia xD)"
Lines (c) Neara, design (c) to Phale, character (c) to me, art (c) to my friend.
Drawing these two always make me feel better.
Imp and Osiris racing through the Forbidden Forest in their homeland where the herd of Sudden Death lay. I cut out the poisonous gasses because otherwise you wouldn't be able to see! Otherwise, the forest is always covered in greenish/white poisonous mist.

Name: Imp
Breed: Halloween Hunter
Age: 10
Gender: ♂
History: Imp was just a young equine, laying in the wet and muddy leaves of a dark orchard, his eyes drooping from tiredness. He gave a gentle snort as the chilling wind touched his black body with an icy finger... He began to reminisce over his solemn past.
I don't suppose you know this, but Imp's parents were not of a particularly high rank, compared to some of his 'brothers' in the herd of Sudden Death.
Osiris, Death and Raphael often teased him because of his history as an underdog in the middle of nowhere, and it often came to light that he was an outsider, somebody who was not classified as the 'same'.
Killer didn't find him at a young age, and that was often the main problem. He was different. Even his history was different.
...
Imp was forced to leave from his low-accommodation home. It seemed that nobody could appreciate him, not even his own parents.
There was a particular stallion named Lucifer; who resented him. Ever since he had been made aware of Imp, there was a fierce dislike shared between the two. A mutual hate. At a later stage, this hate developed into a movement to kick Imp out of his degenerating herd; using his power over others to manipulate and poison those surrounding him as an advantage to overthrow the territory in which everybody lived. Like mentioned, this stallion was incredibly jealous of Imp, taking a great disliking to him despite never interacting with him. He felt the need to turn Imp's own family against him, to force him to leave. He had no choice or he would have been killed by the other helpless souls who had been radicalised into robotic slaves. Lucifer secretly wanted him to become part of the secret herd, fearing that his predecessor (now his greatest enemy) would sink his claws into this new discovery. A likelihood of a new addition into Sudden Death was not an option.
However, just as Lucifer was planning to finish his job, Imp didn't hesitate to wait for the embarrassing situation to fester; he ran. He ran far away and disappeared without a trace. He couldn't deal with constantly fighting himself... He couldn't deal with inward, silent battles... They accompanied the struggles he faced in the early stages of his development; to sustain independence and break away from heavy reliance on others. He needed that quality if he were to make it on his own. Making the first move to break away from his 'safety' network was the first step Imp made to fulfil his wishes, that, and to escape from Lucifer.
Filled with sourness and venom, Imp decided to stay hidden most of the time whilst he established a stable life elsewhere without any unwanted company. Of course, dealing with threats was inevitable as he was situated in an area with lots of passing travellers and trespassers, all of whom were searching for territory to steal (which was his main priority to keep under control). Even though he liked to exercise his frustration through violence, the things he had done didn't soothe his confused and broken heart. He had killed many, using the mentality of survival and determination, though the reasons behind these murders and killings were very much unclear to Imp himself.
Eventually, the stallion became plagued by bad memories of his childhood, and he couldn't shake the oppression from his soul. Instead of becoming a total recluse, the young stallion again, moved on, further away from his family, the family that couldn't fight to keep him, couldn't fight to save him... He moved on further away from that god-forsaken stallion...He figured that if he were to escape these negative areas, he would be able to overcome his issues and get over the crippling emotional pain. However, it didn't end there; the environment that Imp moved to temporarily was quite a tough place to live in. No matter where he went, he always had to keep a sharp eye out for danger, getting cornered and beaten many times by gangs of wandering bachelor stallions whilst trying to defend his territory (an issue like previously mentioned that he was determined to keep under control.)
But things began to worsen.
Poised at the top of the downward spiral, Imp slowly began dragging himself down into hell. He turned into a nervous wreck, shutting himself off from the outside world because he was terrified of being hurt again. He couldn't stand the thought of loosing anything else that meant so much to him. Understandably, somebody with a lot of problems constantly fighting with themselves made their health worse. Imp was no different, neither were his powers superior enough to ward off the possibilities of these degrading factors.
With pent up fury and rage, Imp had lost his senses, killing anything he could to fuel his fire... Those that had the courage to step up to the challenge didn't come near him again. In a cloud of red mist, Imp also became so enraged, it paralysed him. He decided to hunt down those bachelor stallions that had injured him repetitively and killed almost every one, just as a way to focus his mind on something other than his own depression. This was a way to rid the hurt and anger he felt about Lucifer driving him out of his herd, though he decided to move before Lucifer poised to strike. (These events, like killing those bachelor stallions, occurred in the past; nowadays Imp NEVER speaks of his crimes/ordeals/pain).
As he eventually grew up, moving from place to place became easier for him. It was finally possible to settle long enough to encounter important figureheads such as the young Midnight Killer, who was keen to offer him a place in the fearsome herd of Sudden Death. At the time, the herd was infamous and small, so the leader was quite lenient with who he picked, despite the uncertainties and suspicions he had along with the decisions he made.
Eventually, Imp worked his way up the ranks, befriending each member and treating them like family. To this day he is still in the herd of Sudden Death, working tirelessly to form a plot with Killer to fulfil his plans over the realm and all of the herds.
Lucifer had lost track of Imp in the beginning, but he managed to tie up loose ends when his spies had sought news of Sudden Death's new arrival. He secretly knew that it would be Imp, and so, the long battle continued...
Personality: Imp isn't really the sort of horse you get 'up-to-and-personal' with. He is one of the 'quieter' ones out of his entourage -apart from Osiris- and prefers to stay alone or distance himself from civilisation by taking regular trips out to the Forbidden Forest. Mentally, Imp has a complicated imagination and can find it hard to express himself in delicate situations, but will always find a solution to a problem if he has the endearing support of his close friends, he may lighten up and enjoy their company. Although dragging behind him a dismal history, Imp has so much more to him than what meets the eye. Of course, he is reserved, but throughout the years, it has become evident that this stallion is a useful weapon, and a useful member of Sudden Death. He helps contribute to many operations and tasks carried out by the main body of the herd. He is well respected along with Death, Raphael and Osiris.
Mood: Calm, easy-going, sometimes hot-headed.
Current Living Status: With the Sudden Death Herd
Other: Imp either has 'purple' eyes or 'blue' eyes depending on his state-of-mind. If he is somewhat detached, Imp will often possess the colour of blue, as it represents the idea of 'cold' and 'untouchable'. If Imp is feeling sorrowful or some kind of deeply-routed emotion, he will often possess the colour of purple, as it is a warmer, complex colour that accompanies that particular emotion.
